• Megan

    Megan is a Certified Professional Groomer, graduating from the Pampered Paws Professional Development Program. She has two years of on the job experience, but her natural aptitude for working with hair makes it seem like she has been grooming much longer. Megan is a member of the National Groomers Association of Canada in accordance with her groomer training.

  • Andrew

    Andrew is a lifelong Guildwood resident. After graduating from Sir Wilfred Laurier High School, he went to George Brown College where he earned my Child and Youth Worker diploma. He then decided to travel a bit, utilizing his diploma and earning money at the same time, he joined the Princess Cruise Line for about 3 years. Andrew then worked in group homes, for developmentally disabled individuals, for the next few years until he decided to change careers. Animals are his passion, so he decided to venture into the pet industry. Andrew completed a certificate program at Sheridan College in Animal Care. This program contained background in aspects of animal care for domesticated animals, farm animals and knowledge of wildlife. Part of the Animal Care Program included the fulfillment of a co-op field placement at Muddy Paws. His desire to specialize in grooming was realized at this time and Andrew has been training under the guidance of our head instructor Colleen, ever since. His passion for animals is evident and he has a knack for making even the most difficult cases feel at home and relaxed.

  • Colleen

    Colleen went to Pampered Paws Grooming Academy where she became a Licensed & Certified Master Groomer. She has 30 years of grooming experience and is the owner of Muddy Paws in the Guild. Colleen did not stop with her initial training. She has attended many workshops and extra courses over the years, including: a Specialist Certificate in Terrier breeds, pet first aid, Asian Fusion hairstyles and more.

    Colleen is happiest when making all the furry critters that come to us for grooming look more beautiful than when they came in. For her, there’s never enough love to go around. Colleen likes to wear her passions on her pants and can often be found wearing patterns of each season on them, along with pictures of dogs or cats.

    In addition to her grooming expertise, Colleen has over 50 years of retail & marketing experience. She worked as a Buyer and Divisional Merchandise Manager for Towers Department Stores, until the Hudson’s Bay Company purchased them.
    She was one of three Buyers selected for Recruitment by HBC and secured a position as a Divisional Merchandise Manager of Greeting Cards, Candy and Tobacco. Her job allowed her to travel internationally, most frequently to Asia, purchasing retail products to be sold nationally for both Towers & HBC until she decided to change career paths to something that was near and dear to her heart.

  • Derrick Zuber

    Derrick Zuber is a second-generation Muddy Paws employee. He started working in the shop with his parents at age 10 and developed a keen interest in the business. His job currently includes managing the day-to-day operations of the store, including: inventory management, payroll, accounts management, and customer service. One of Derrick’s interests is pet food and nutrition. He has been studying pet nutrition for the last 30 years and has a keen eye for ingredients panels.

    Derrick began working full time at Muddy Paws after graduating from Tyndale University with a BA in English Literature and Religious Studies. Derrick is also and accomplished musician, having released three studio albums since 2013 and is currently working on Praise and Worship music to be released in 2024.

    On weekends, Derrick is currently acting as a Worship Leader at Zion Christian Reformed Church in Oshawa and likes to spend time with his wife and daughter.

  • Melissa

    Melissa is a lifelong Guildwood resident, horse and dog trainer, specializing in positive reinforcement and clicker training and is in the process of getting her CPDT certification. She is a nutrition nerd with extensive knowledge of species specific, biologically appropriate, balanced nutrition and always has a dry matter calculator on standby. Melissa is a self proclaimed supplement junkie with an understanding of various ailments, health concerns and the desire of providing your pet with all the vitamins and minerals they need with the remedies to resolve them.

  • Tahmid

    Tahmid started his journey into the world of animal care during my grade 12 co-op placement, where he had the opportunity to work hands-on with various animals at Muddy Paws. This experience ignited his passion and paved the way for his dedication to pursuing a career centered around our beloved furry companions.During Tahmid’s time at university, he eagerly applied to re-join the Muddy Paws team, and is now back to bring us his best.

    Tahmid is currently studying Biology at the Toronto Metropolitan University. When he is not at the store or school, he immerses myself in two of my favourite hobbies: fencing and video games.
